Should You Upgrade from BeatStars’ Starter to Professional Plan?

Music Diary

BeatStars offers a compelling platform for music creators, enabling artists and producers to sell and distribute their tracks to audiences worldwide. Many users are drawn to its convenience and features, yet the choice between its “Starter” and “Professional” plans is not straightforward.

Once, I was a subscriber to the Professional plan. Its most attractive feature was the ability to create a unique Pro Page using a custom domain. This capability is highly effective for enhancing brand visibility and projecting a professional image. However, I made a decision to shift gears. Instead of using BeatStars’ Pro Page, I opted to build my site with WordPress.

Several reasons fueled this decision. First, using WordPress allows for more detailed control over site design and functionality. This autonomy enables the establishment of a unique online presence. Additionally, WordPress offers significant flexibility for SEO strategies, improving visibility in search engine results and potentially attracting more fans and customers.

So, was downgrading to the Starter plan the right move for me? And should I recommend others upgrade to the Professional plan? Here are my conclusions:

  1. Your Website Usage: If you already invest significant time and resources into your website, especially if it’s powered by a robust CMS like WordPress, the Starter plan might suffice. Your website can serve as an effective alternative to BeatStars’ Pro Page.
  2. Branding and Professionalism: If you’re in the early stages of building your brand and don’t yet have a personal website, the Professional plan’s custom domain for creating a Pro Page can be instrumental in establishing a professional image and enhancing brand recognition.
  3. Budget and Resources: While the Professional plan offers enticing features, its cost may not be feasible for every creator. Carefully consider your budget and goals to evaluate which plan offers the best value for your needs.

Ultimately, the choice between BeatStars’ plans depends heavily on individual needs, objectives, and resources. My experience represents just one scenario among many. Making the choice that best aligns with your goals is key to success.
